GUNBALANYA

Gunbalanya, also known as Oenpelli, is a small, vibrant Aboriginal community located in the Northern Territory, approximately 300 kilometers east of Darwin. Situated in the heart of Arnhem Land, this remote suburb is surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including rugged escarpments, lush wetlands, and the iconic East Alligator River. Gunbalanya is renowned for its rich Indigenous culture, particularly its traditional art and strong connection to the land. The community is home to the Injalak Arts Centre, which showcases the work of local artists and serves as a cultural hub.
